Renew Fuel Station opens in Little Chute

Station is first on east side of the Fox Cities to feature E85.

Feb. 4, 2008

OSHKOSH, WI: A new Renew Fuel Station began operations on February 4, 2008 in Little Chute on Freedom Road (Highway N) next to the Best Wash Car Wash. The unattended fuel station features “locally grown” fuels for all gasoline vehicles including, Unleaded Plus for use in all gasoline vehicles as well as E85 and E20 (with 85% and 20% ethanol respectively) for flexible fuel vehicles. The station marks the opening of the first fuel station in the Heart of the Valley area to offer E85.

Statistics from Wisconsin’s Office of Energy Independence estimate there are over 25,000 Flex Fuel Vehicles in Northeast Wisconsin that can run on straight gasoline or blends up to 85% ethanol. This number is expected to continue to grow dramatically in the future. “Drivers are looking for a change,” explains Jay Stoflet, Director of Retail Marketing. “Since most gas stations have no interest in selling alternative fuels or are restricted by their station brand from selling them, it is up to independent companies like ours to provide consumers new choices.”

While the number of vehicles that can use E85 is growing enough, there are many drivers who can’t use the fuel but still are concerned about where they fill up their tanks. This is why, according to Stoflet, the company also offers Unleaded Plus which can be used by all gasoline vehicles. “There are many people who understand it’s time for a change at the pump and are concerned about who they are supporting when they fill up at the pump. We offer people a new choice - a locally owned, locally grown alternative dedicated to the future of alternative fuels.”

Renew opened their first Fox Cities station on Wisconsin Avenue in Grand Chute in July of 2007. The company anticipates opening 3 to 5 more Fox Cities area stations within the next few years.
